What We're Planning

Here’s a sneak peek at some of what in the works.

And if you haven’t already signed up for Festival email, now is the time! Get notified when we lock in our first round of programming.

We welcome your suggestions and ideas! And if you’d like to recommend a speaker, trip leader, or workshop instructor, we’d love to hear from you. Thanks.

Home Base

The Festival’s Home Base serves as a place to meet and gather. We want to make it easy for attendees to explore exhibitor and sponsor booths, keep driving to a minimum, and get as close to zero waste as possible.

At the Home Base, you’ll be able to grab a snack, take a break, get help with questions or concerns, take a workshop, and meet up with other birders.

Field Trips

Each day’s schedule will include a menu of field trips led by experienced leaders. These trips will explore important bird areas, habitats, sanctuaries and refuges, and public and private lands.

You could choose to explore a different habitat every day.

Trips may also include unique content—history,, poetry, and landscape design. We’ll offer trips for advanced as well as beginning birders as well as accessible trips, trips for young birders, and more.

Pelagic Trips

Off the coast of Boston you’ll find some some of the best birding in the Northeast—pelagic birding! The waters of the Atlantic rocky coasta islands and nutrient-rich upwellings off Stellwagen Band and Cape Cod serve as feeding grounds for sea birds and set the stage for exciting bird- and whale-watching adventures.

We plan to offer several pelagic trips during the Festival.

Look for daily workshops that focus on birding skills or related topics—all led by skilled instructors. From basic birding skills to advanced nature journaling to technical skills and more, we’ll have something for most birders.

The Festival will feature at least one Spotlight Speaker, panel discussion, or presentation every evening. In addition, we may also offer afternoon talks designed for smaller audiences or focused on special topics.

The speaker line-up will include popular presenters, but also new voices with powerful perspectives

Exhibitor Showcase

Explore a selection of exhibitor booths from the latest in gear to amazing small business leading change in sustainabilty to adventure and tour operators.

The Festival invites booth applications from interested vendors. Email us for info.

Special Events

We plan to offer a social event each evening. Get to know your fellow birders, enjoy some fun, and make new friends.
