The Boston Birding Festival is a Massachusetts nonprofit organization founded in 2023. Your gift may be tax deductible.
Become a Friend of the Festival by making a monthly or annual gift.
You will be supporting our ability to offer free and low-cost ongoing community programming year-round that produces greater awareness of conservation, environmental justice, and climate issues—through the special and accessible lens of birding.
Your gift makes a significant impact on the programming we can offer. With your support, we can:
- Introduce participants to birds through welcoming small group experiences
- Create greater appreciation and support for the work of environmental leaders in our community
- Help protect more birds and habitat by building more awareness of the causes of bird population decline and empowering people to act
- Demonstrate ways in which birding can create common ground and transcend social division
- Nurture habits of scientific curiosity, observation, focused attention, and wondering
- Offer welcoming recreation, entertainment, joy, exploration, discovery, adventure, and fresh air to a wide range of people, especially in urban communities
- Help more people understand the importance of participatory science and its role in environmental justice
- Help more people feel comfortable, knowledgeable, confident, and curious in wild places
- Inspire and empower people to take action on climate, conservation, and environmental justice
By supporting our year-round programming, you are helping us to offer a calendar of free community events and lay the groundwork for an annual festival.
Small events allow us to test program ideas and build awareness. They create an avenue for us to develop critical relationships with partners for the future. They enable us to identify and connect with emerging voices, new leaders, and educators, and provide new leaders with opportunities to gain valuable experience.
