Do you know your grackles from your grosbeaks and your crowns from your napes? Can you spot a tanager from 100 paces? Or are you more bird-curious? Either way, join us for a high-flying, bino-tingling Bird Trivia Night at Tilde in Cambridge, emceed by science journalist Cara Giaimo!
Bring your team of 4 or join a mixed flock! All participants must sign up in advance, as space is limited. While it might help to have a birder on your team, deep bird knowledge isn’t required to play and have fun.
Cara Giaimo is the author of Atlas Obscura: Wild Life and Leaving the Ocean Was a Mistake: Life Lessons from Sixty Sea Creatures, and covers the lives of animals and plants for various publications. Cara lives in Somerville with her wife and two cats. She loves belted kingfishers.
Tilde brings an approachable, social, and locally focused edge to the cafe & bar scene in Cambridge. Every decision we make is an attempt to reflect the tastes and passions of the people who call this city home, and give everyone a space to meet, gather, and take a breath.
Above all else, we value local products and local relationships. We aim to cultivate a menu that reflects our focus on the neighborhood: sourcing from nearby wholesalers, encouraging staff ownership of rotating specials, and featuring local culinary artisans. We serve locally roasted Broadsheet coffee, appetizers, salads, and sandwiches, along with desserts sourced from local bakeries, and partner with local distributors to curate a rotating wine menu featuring domestic, small producers.
