ABOUT THIS TRIP

Celebrate Earth Day with a morning bird walk at Danehy Park, one of the largest and most popular of Cambridge’s green spaces. Earth Day matters now more than ever.

Danehy Park is also home to a Miyawaki Forest, planted by volunteers in 2021. There are now 140+ trees and 32 native species of plants. We’ll take a look….

We’ll also keep an eye and especially an ear out for newly arriving songbirds and other migrants as well as resident birds.

Beginners are welcome and encouraged to join us—we’ll even have some binoculars to lend. You can also download the free Merlin app if you would like to learn a little more about bird songs on this walk.

Registration in advance is required. Limited to 24. A second walk may be added if there is demand.

After this walk, you’re invited to join us in sitting down to write a postcard or two to your representatives about an environmental issues of your choice. We’ll bring everything you need—pens, stamps, etc.

We are excited to offer this walk in partnership with Many Helping Hands 365 and, if you are a Cambridge neighbor, plan to join us in celebrating the next MLK Day of Service.

As always, new birders are always welcome, and we will have binoculars to lend.

See you out there.
