ABOUT THIS TRIP

Join us for a late winter bird walk at Castle Island in Boston with folks from Beyond Plastics Greater Boston. This location is always good for winter species and occasional rarities.

At the Boston Birding Festival, we seek opportunities to connect the dots—to help birders learn how to reduce threats to birds, and to provide people who work on environmental challenges a chance to experience the amazing wildlife they are helping to protect.

It’s an opportunity to mix joy and gratitude with new insights and perspectives. We hope it’s also a chance to raise awareness, share ideas and knowledge, and learn how we can do something positive.

While Castle Island is not an unfamiliar location for Boston-area birders, we hope you’ll see it with new eyes during this trip. No lectures, just quiet conversation as we look out at the harbor, count Eider and Scoter, and let ourselves be dazzled by Dunlin. And if you’re not a birder, let us show you how important your work is and how much we appreciate it!

New birders are always welcome, and we have some binoculars to lend.
