ABOUT THIS TRIP

Chapin Beach, Dennis
Thursday, August 21 at 5:30 PM
Presented by the Cape Cod Bird Club

A beautiful yet secluded beach with nice views of Sandy Neck Lighthouse and Grays Beach. Expect to see shorebirds, terns, and gulls gathering in numbers with the falling tide. The Beach looks to the north with endless mudflats–a shorebird buffet.

The star here is Forster’s Tern, somewhat of a regular at this location. This stunning tern is treated as a species of special concern in Massachusetts. We don’t often get to see them closer to Boston. Fingers crossed! Also? It might not be the only tern we are likely to see….

Loaner binoculars are available–email us in advance. Spaces limited!

New birders and the merely bird-curious are very welcome on this walk. It’s a good walk, a beautiful place, and we’ll be taking it at a relaxed pace. We will have binoculars to lend—email your request in advance.

See you out there!
