Get up close and personal with your birding binoculars and get ready for spring birding. We'll cover setting up binocuarls correctly and basic binocualr hygiene and answer questions about birding optics—from choosing the right binoculars if you're near-sighed to how bug spray can affect your lens.
You can order a cleaning kit in advance and join the group getting your lenses clean and sparkling for your next birding adventure.
The Boston Birding Festival is excited to join with Many Helping Hands 365, My Brother’s’ Keeper Cambridge and the Cambridge YWCA to offer a selection of bird walks in the Cambridge area designed for beginner birders—this is our third year organzing community birding experences.
This years walks include:
Fresh Pond
A walk around Fresh Pond. Tis is a paved 3 Mile flat walk that is largely wheelchair acessible. Limted to 10 birders. Dress for the weather and expect to spend 2 hours over 3 miles. Mostly flat with some modest inclines and some boardwalk areas.
Alewife Reservation
A 90 minute walk in Fresh Pond where will expire wetlands and waterfowl. Paved flat walkways and boardwalks. LImited to 20 Birders.
Magazine Beach
Spend 60 minutes Birding maazin Beach, Ideal for beginner and young birders just getting started. Packed dirt and paved paths with some inclines.
Halls Pond
Just over teh bridge in Brookline, liesa bewutiful birdy oasis. We’ll send 90 minutes seeingwhat we can see. This walk has rough footing and is not ideal for anyone with mobilit challemges.

Join us for a wide ranging conversation with revive and restore an orgaization aking a radical appraoch to avian conservation by bringing extinct species back. We’ll explore the science, the ethics, the possibilities ?? and what it means for conservation.

There’s a lot of fun and learing t be had when you bird for a purpose. Numerous organzied events exist for birders and especialybeinnger. We’ll chat with representaives from Mass Audubon’s Birdtahon, Cornell’s Feerede Wacth, Nat Aud Christmans Bird Count , Rhodes Isalnd Big Day, The Syperboa of Birding and who will explain how you can get involved and why.

Join us to explore some of the state’s lesser hotspots in the north section of the Massachsues Nashoba River Watershed. We’ll start at Healh Orchard and then explore 2 additional locations for a full day of birding.
